I have been a counsellor/life coach and therapist for 17 years via voluntary, charity, and private work, mostly for lifestyle, weight management and nutrition, bereavement, separation, relationships, phobias, anxiety and panic, depression, stress, eating disorders, confidence and self-esteem, and sleep disorders. My specialty areas are CBT, Basic Hypnotherapy Techniques, EFT, and Mindfulness for menopause management, stress reduction, insomnia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, dysautonomia, fibromyalgia, and long COVID management.
I have provided support to those grieving a loss by suicide. This is an experience I have personally faced, and it can be challenging to manage when it seems that no one can truly understand unless they've been through it themselves. Therefore, I am not just a counsellor with textbook knowledge; I can genuinely empathize with your feelings.
This type of bereavement requires a special understanding of the various stages of grief you experience. In many respects, this form of loss can take longer to process than others, as it involves the individual's choice, leaving those left behind with numerous questions.
My Approach to Counselling:
I don't adhere to a single style, as my education and experience are diverse. I prefer to tailor my approach to meet my clients' needs, as I believe that what works for one person might not be effective for another.
Nonetheless, the approaches I primarily focus on include:
Yoga Breathwork and Relaxation therapies for managing anxiety, improving sleep, and reducing stress; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT); Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) for addressing thought and behaviour patterns; and clinical Hypnotherapy.
I offer counselling online via Zoom
Anything you share with me remains completely confidential, as confidentiality is essential for the service's purpose. I adhere to UK law and follow the ethical guidelines of BACP, BPS, MSFTR, and CCC.
You are welcome to discuss any emotional issues with me, even if you're unsure of the cause. I've found that online counselling is an effective way to begin addressing various concerns, and I will tailor my approach to fit your needs.
I am trained to express my thoughts and feelings about your situation, which can sometimes be difficult to hear. If I ever offend you or if you're dissatisfied with anything, please let me know, as you are the one paying for the service. If you're looking for a counsellor who only checks if you're okay, my service might not be the right fit, although I will start by assessing your current feelings, situation, and mood.
Feel free to reach out if you want more information. My goal is to provide a helpful counselling service for you.
I welcome any feedback and suggestions you have about the service and the website.
“The saying that time heals all wounds is not necessarily true for everyone. Time is necessary for healing, but time is not enough. Shared feelings enrich and lead to growth and healing”

Exploring Various Techniques & Therapies:
COUNSELLING
In today's world, numerous stresses and pressures arise from factors both within and beyond our control. These may stem from our past, present, or future and can involve issues related to family, finances, relationships, expectations, loss, fear, disorders, illness, work, etc. Consequently, an increasing number of individuals are recognizing the advantages of counselling. Counselling provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns, explore the challenges in your life, and empower you to make informed decisions about how to proceed.
NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING
Neuro – pertains to the mindLinguistic – pertains to languageProgramming – the sequence of actions used to achieve a resultNeuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) explores the framework of how humans think and perceive the world. It is a systematic examination of human communication. The nature of NLP is subjective, which means it does not conform to precise, statistical formulas. Instead, it leads to models of how these processes function. Individuals make the best-known choice available to them at any given moment. However, the more options a person has, the greater their chances of success. Through NLP, individuals can learn to make better choices and changes, enhancing their personal and/or professional lives.
NLP can be utilised in various fields such as relationship challenges, negotiation and mediation, fears and phobias, trauma, habits and compulsions, social skills deficiencies, relaxation difficulties, chronic injury or pain, life planning, motivation problems, confidence issues, assertiveness deficiencies, ineffective meetings, decision making, creativity and cognitive problem solving, time management, and more.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is founded on the idea that altering negative thought patterns and behaviors can significantly impact a person's emotional well-being. As a psychological method grounded in scientific principles, CBT has proven effective for a variety of issues among young people, adults, families, and individuals. It emphasises the individual's ability to take control and alter their negative thoughts, feelings, and actions. CBT typically concentrates on present-day issues rather than past events, although past issues are addressed when necessary. The therapy generally consists of three stages: a beginning, a middle, and an end. It employs a directive, action-oriented strategy that helps individuals explore, identify, and analyse dysfunctional thinking and behavior patterns. This is achieved through collaboration between the client and therapist to understand problems in terms of the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Once these issues and unproductive patterns are identified and analysed, a tailored intervention program is developed to meet the individual's needs. The client learns to adopt alternative, more constructive perspectives to address their problems.
CBT is also highly beneficial in managing chronic pain, fear, post-illness recovery, and menopause management.
